LOOPED
3 FRESH TRAINERS FOR 2018
By Nic Hayman, January 8, 2018
The turn of the year is the perfect time to reshuffle your trainer rotation. Why? Erm, not really sure, but any excuse to grab some new kicks and it’s a done deal. We’ve roped in the sneaker sages from Looped to drop some knowledge and reveal the three pairs they’re looking at for 2018.

adidas Originals Prophere
First it was NMD, then EQT, and now Prophere. We’re used to adidas starting the year off with a brand new silhouette, but that doesn’t mean we don’t get hyped each time around. The Prophere brings a new twist to the streamlined, futuristic, sock-style sneaker trend with an oversized, sculpted sole unit, apparently inspired by stingrays. We haven’t got the oceanographic knowledge to confirm or deny the resemblance, but we do like the direction the Trefoil have taken on this one.

Converse Chuck 70 Snake
These are anything but new, given that the original Chuck Taylor dropped in 1917, but this snakeskin-patterned makeover brings a deadly new look to the oldest sneaker design still in production. These are snazzy, more premium Chucks as well, with a chunkier sole, thicker laces and vintage branding. It’s about time for an upgrade.

Reebok Classic Club C ‘Clubhouse Grey’
This one’s extra special, seeing as it’s an exclusive for ASOS. We hooked up with our friends at Reebok to put a new spin on one of our favourite silhouettes, the Club C, rigging it out with shaggy grey-lilac suede, gold branding and a gum sole. We’re pretty sure this is the shoe of the year, speaking from an entirely objective standpoint.
