REEBOK CLASSIC FOR ASOS

Introducing the Club C 85 in ‘Clubhouse Grey’ – a tennis classic reworked in collaboration with Reebok for the first special link-up between ASOS and the Bolton brand. As your resident sneakers insiders, Looped has the lowdown on the drop. 

First things first, the C here stands for champion. Originally a stand-out winner on the court, the Club C is still smashing it in its retirement on the streetwear scene. The low-key lace-up had us hooked as soon as it returned from the archive back in 2016, at a time when things were getting so techy that shoes were actually lacing themselves.

So when we spoke with our friends at Reebok about creating an exclusive, the Club C was the natural number one pick. Staying true to what first made it a winner on the scene, we have reimagined the clean understated aesthetic in a way that feels right for its newfound place on the streets.

What’s the shoe got going on then? A grey-lilac hairy suede upper. A road-ready gum sole. A mad cosy towelling sockliner – no longer performance required but more than welcome come cold season. And, finally, gold branding on the midfoot and tongue recalling the Club C’s glory days on the pro circuit. A true champion then, not only by name.
