Reebok Classic Leather Zip: All new hardware

Some sneakerheads will tell you that a classic should never be messed with. Well Reebok is literally saying "zip it" to them with its latest release: the Classic Leather Zip. 

It’s hard not to love the Classic Leather. Reebok may have made a bold move back in 1987 by calling its latest design a classic right off the bat, but this simple, uncomplicated sneaker has soaked up so much cultural clout in its 30 years of life, that there’s only one phrase to describe it… by name and by nature.

If it feels like the Classic Leather has been around forever, it’s because it’s never gone away. Unlike other shoes that come and go with the trends, Classics have stayed on the shelves since the start. Whether, it’s the original white leather lows, a high top rework, or exotic animal prints, they just don’t go out of fashion. 

Reebok’s latest twist sees this stalwart of the sneaker game lose its laces in place of a zip fastening, handily stamped with the coordinates of Reebok’s headquarters in case you’re ever lost in middle Massachusetts. This contemporary remix is best served with some choice cuts from your favorite streetwear brands: Champion shorts, an Adolescent Clothing slogan tee and a bomber jacket will smash it, as will crisp white joggers and an oversized Factory tee. It’s a Classic, but not as you know it.
