Fenty’s back, back again
By Nic Hayman, May 9, 2017
You didn't think she was going to stop at just one season did you? Nah, Rihanna is back at the PUMA helm and her sophomore Fenty collection is just about ready to touch down.

It’s been well over two years since RiRi landed the gig as creative director at PUMA and it’s been hit after hit since day dot — you can hardly have missed her world-conquering Creepers. But it wasn’t until last season that the Bajan superstar made her debut with a full clothing collection. That initial effort saw her go into gothic overdrive with a fully-monochrome apparel line that packed the streetwear punch we’re used to seeing her bring on the daily.

After bringing the spooky vibes with that show in New York, Rihanna went Anti this season with a decadent Parisian presentation that can most accurately be described as Marie Antoinette meets streetwear. The collection mashes up contemporary cuts, like drop-shoulder hoodies and hockey tops, with details like corset fastenings and lace patterning. Opulent ain't even the word.

Among the best pieces from the new drop are the lilac polo shirt swing dress, which makes for an easy win teamed with socks and slides, and the boxy-cut cropped tees. Pale pink and army green were the pigments du jour for this collection, so combine the former with some cut-off khakis and those same slides for supreme summer style. The next installment of Fenty SS17 lands soon, so keep it locked to Looped.
