Get more sole with Vans’ Old Skool Platforms
By Nic Hayman, April 25, 2017
Vans have been shredding it on the skate scene for over 50 years, so you know by now that your feet are in good hands when it comes to dressing like a SoCal sidewalk surfer. But their latest drop will take your streetwear game to all new heights — literally.

Taking the fashion favorite, the Old Skool, Vans has added a new-trend twist into the mix by double-stacking its famed waffle soles — tasty doesn’t even cover it. While it’s not exactly recommended you take these for a ride on your skateboard, the combo of original skate DNA and the creeper-style sole that’s hotter than ever right now (s/o Rihanna for that) is so on-point it’s unreal.

The brand with the sidestripe’s latest serving comes in a couple of colorways: keep things OG with the black suede offering, which will fill the new season "go-to" spot on your shoe rack nicely. Or, if you’re feeling a little textual, go with the script-heavy white canvas joints.

So how to bring a new season spin to the rest of your skate style? Grab a palm print shirt for maximum Cali vibes and layer with a clean white hoodie. Straight-cut work pants take care of the legwear. Or mix up the geography with a Canadian tux: frayed hem jeans and this year’s workwear-inspired runway hit, a denim chore jacket, finish up your look with finesse. Wallet chain optional, but very much encouraged.
