THE COLOURS TO WEAR IN 2026

We’ve already imparted our fashion wisdom with a 2026 trend guide – but in the spirit of getting ahead, we’re diving into the details. If prints, hems and balloon silhouettes are to dominate the next 12 months, it’s important to find natural ways of implementing them in your existing wardrobe. So where to start? The best foundation for an outfit refresh is colour, and 2026 promises a buffet of shades good enough to eat. From tomato reds to citrus yellows, buttery creams and refreshing cerulean blues, keep scrolling for how to style the year in colour.

TOMATO RED

Dua Lipa matches her dress to her fiery locks.

Red has emerged as a timeless trend – rarely wavering from its top spot on fashion’s colour chart. This year sees tomato red continue to reign, with an added focus on texture to spice things up. Think fringing, frills and draping that add some aplomb to your look. Matthieu Blazy already set the bar with his exaggerated skirts at Chanel, and we can’t wait to see where fashion takes its favourite shade next. Wondering how to style this vivid colour? It’s statement enough on its own, so don’t complicate things. Opt for one bold red piece to break up a simple outfit, with clean lines from a cotton shirt or smart trouser to balance the vivacious tone.

CERULEAN BLUE

Cerulean blue is your answer to a pop of colour.

Once your tastes are awoken by a zing of red, blue arrives to refresh the palette. Cerulean shades have been trending after the spring/summer runways, a reminder that primary colours rarely fall short. Whether it’s soft knitwear or striking tailoring, this cool and powerful shade makes an impact. We love a bold blue jacket or coat to uplift darker layers – particularly during these colder months.

LIME GREEN AND YELLOW

Chase Infiniti makes a case for lemon yellow on the red carpet.

Another palette sure to cut through your neutrals this year is citrus – specifically lemon yellow and lime green. Butter yellow was the favoured sunny shade in 2025, which has made way for more exaggerated takes in 2026. From Prada’s SS26 collection to Loewe’s coveted new look, fruit bowls are taking aim at fashion. Citrus hues are infamously tricky to style, given their sharp edges – but reaching for softer, warmer hues is one way to incorporate them into your wardrobe. We’re also excited to add a pop of chartreuse to a neutral look – think bold bags and sunglasses – come summer.

CLASSIC CREAM

JADE shows us how to do minimalism.

We couldn’t have the colour conversation without mentioning neutrals – not least because ‘Cloud Dancer’, a soft white, was named Pantone’s colour of the year for 2026. A strange choice to some, this understated shade will be music to the ears of minimalists everywhere. And just as a dollop of cream always adds to a dish, vanilla-toned pieces can be anything but boring. Whether you use them to break up a bright ensemble or add some luxurious 90s monochrome to your knits and coats, this light shade will always serve a purpose in your wardrobe.
