WHAT ASOS INSIDERS WORE TO THE CHRISTMAS PARTY

Not that we’re biased or anything, but ASOS throws the best Christmas party this side of the Thames. From a live choir serenading the staff with carols, to bottomless trays of mince pies and a surprise DJ set from Love Island winner Cach – every inch of our office was transformed into a winter wonderland this year. Unsurprisingly, delivering a statement party outfit was high on the list of priorities. We grabbed a few of our ASOS Insiders between festivities for a breakdown of their final looks – here are the highlights.

GRACE - MARKETING DELIVERY MANAGER

Grace took the colour of the year (nay, decade) and decided more is always more. But it’s not the world’s best shade that caught our eye here. By clashing two timeless textures with a velvet dress and lace tights, this look is tactile and festive without one hint of sparkle. Don’t get us wrong, we love a good sequin moment – but it’s nice to see a seasonal look that veers into fresh territory.

AIMEE - SENIOR ASSISTANT BUYER

If you’re less of a dress girl, this ‘fit serves as an important reminder to never sleep on a good blazer. While silhouettes have shifted over the years, this wardrobe staple still delivers – providing a jacket, shirt or more structured layer depending on what you require. Thanks to the cinched design, a more casual trouser still feels suited to party season. Plus, the simple but elevated cuts of both pieces leave room for a statement shoe topped with contrasting hyper-feminine bows.

It’s important to have fun with your clothes, and no more so than during the festive period. Panayiotis pulled pieces from both menswear and womenswear for this impeccable ‘fit, blending corp-core with a gritty leather jacket. The billowing trousers and sharp pointed boots complete a smart-casual cocktail that will have your colleagues gripped with envy.

It wouldn’t be a Christmas party without some sparkle, would it? Bella’s sheer skirt co-ord features delicate mesh and blush-toned sequins – reflecting light to create an illusion of icy crystals tumbling down the body. This lighter take on familiar festive glitter makes for a more understated look that even the most glam-averse can appreciate. Paired with sleek burgundy court heels and a mini black leather bag, the simple accessories let the main event shine (quite literally).

This one makes a case for subtle party dressing, featuring items most of us already have in the arsenal. A simple but quality breatheMAX™ T-shirt is the foundation for sleek black tailoring – with a lightweight shirt providing movement and preventing things from looking overwrought. Subtle pops of hardware in the watch and belt buckle are a nod to the festive season that also serve to elevate the entire look. Clean and crisp in equal measure, if the chic French exit was an outfit it’d probably look like this.
