Whether you’re a winter bride or just fancy being the centre of attention, this dress is worth a second look. It’s not often we have reason to pull out such a showstopper, but it never hurts to have a few high-octane irons in your sartorial fire. And after all, it is party season – so if a glamorous gown was to appear in your life it would be about now. Jennifer’s satin Dior number builds on trending drapery, with a breath-stealing slit that hits just above the thigh. This has all the makings of a dream wedding dress with equal doses of nostalgia – it reminds us of waltzing around our childhood bedroom draped in a bedsheet, enacting a princess marriage in front of our Barbie congregation. It’s still a resounding ‘I do!’ for this look.

Jennifer may have a carousel of acting awards on her mantlepiece, but the real winners are inside her wardrobe – case in point: this minimal ensemble, which turns the familiar white T-shirt on its head. Pairing a perfectly cut top with an architectural black mini skirt and cute bow heels, Jennifer’s monochromatic look is what would happen if quiet luxury ran away and joined the circus on a study-abroad stint in Paris. Uber chic, plenty of fun, and compiled of staples you won’t find intimidating – we can see ourselves sipping espresso beneath the awning of a French café in this faultless outfit.

Fashion’s colour palette often turns to nature when autumn arrives. While many of us are delving into the chocolate box with rich browns and auburns, Jennifer’s gown at the San Sebastián film festival made a case for moss green. Her Phoebe Philo look featured another bold cut-out and her favourite draped silhouette with contrasting sleeves and an off-centre leather belt. We love how heavy the fabric feels in both weight and warmth, with an abstract silhouette that appears to fall right off the body. This may be a couture moment, but there’s plenty to take stock of here. From the seasonal shade to the whisper of tailoring, this is one way to wow your peers with an avant-garde take on the evening dress.

OFFICE SIREN

Forget every bad word we said about the office – this outfit has us dreaming of it, if only for the looks we’d get as we strut through the door. Cinched waist, sleek skirt and sharp heels: here the trifecta of boss-woman style is handled with utmost respect. The tiny leather bag is a delicious addition. What kind of work can one achieve with such miniature accessories? Only a woman in charge could waltz around with no room for supplies. Why? They’re all waiting in her private, glass-walled, plush-carpeted, art-filled office of course. Now quit staring and get back to work!
