A LOVE LETTER TO DANCE W/ NIKE
November 14, 2023

Hey Hannah 🫶 Can you talk us through your dance and fashion styles?
I'm more of a contemporary girlie, I do have a bit of ballet technique in there, but I do a lot of improvisation. With fashion, I love to mix a little top with baggy bottoms, vintage streetwear, and kilts – they’re everywhere atm! When I'm dancing, I love baggy on baggy. When the wind hits, or when you move your body and the clothes ripple against it, it just has a cool effect.
So cool 🌹 When you’re dancing is there a particular moment that makes you feel most alive?
When you get to the point where you can't dance anymore, but you can. After a piece that's an hour, for example. You go full out. You’re breathing heavily, sweating, you have a different kind of energy and adrenaline. That’s when you feel most alive.
An hour!!! Mind = blown. What do you love to dance in the most?
I love wearing bright colours because you catch yourself in the mirror and you're like, "Oh yeah, that was a nice little moment that you gave". Also, we love wearing socks in my company – we all have different Nike Dri-Fit ones. We love that we can pull them up high! I don’t know why it makes a difference, but it does 🥰

Lydia, we love this ‘fit! 💫 Can you let us know a little about your dancing style and fashion tastes?
My style is fierce, powerful and, like, stank face. I think the energy and attitude behind hip hop is just me. It's my personality. Bold, big, lots of energy. And I like to take risks with my clothes. I like colourful stuff, maybe on the sexier side... Anything that would catch someone’s eye. So, actually, this outfit is so on-brand.
The bra is currently sitting in our Saved Items 💋 Back to dance, what do you love the most about it?
The energy. The amount of time you put into something, it might be three minutes, but those three minutes are so electric. Plus, it just brings joy to people's lives.
So true! Is there a particular moment where dance makes you feel most connected to yourself?
When you’re live with a crowd. It can be nerve-wracking, but that moment is so surreal. You can't even explain it. Sometimes there’s pressure, but the energy in the room makes it worth it in the end.

It’s so nice to meet you 💘 how would you describe your style?
I feel like I don't have a specific style of dance, I prefer embracing and immersing myself in different styles. There's just more freedom in that! And with fashion, I’ll either go more femme, like this ‘fit [from the shoot day], or I’ll pick comfy, loose pieces.
We need to try it 🪩 How would you say dancing makes you feel?
I feel safe. I don't have to talk, I don't have to sing [ed note: Elena’s a musical theatre performer]. With dancing, you look inwards. It’s like that saying, "dance like no one's watching". Sometimes you don't have to perform, it's more of a self-love activity. Plus, I feel like I know my body more when I’m dancing.
We absolutely love that 🫶 What kinds outfits do you reach for when dancing?
A built-in bra. And then something baggy and comfy, like sweats, so you can create nice shapes.
