EVERYTHING ON OUR RADAR THIS MONTH
By Flo Bellinger, 1 December 2025
We don’t know exactly when it happened, but we’re officially in the final month of 2025. In what’s felt like the fastest year on record, we’ve seen plenty of fashion trends, celebrity break-ups (and make-ups), viral TV shows and soul-shaking movies. But it’s not over yet. December is – as always – the most jam-packed four weeks in the calendar. Between festive parties and social gatherings, you’d struggle to squeeze in all the wonderful things on this list – but believe us, you'll want to give it a go. From new music to the best Christmas markets, keep scrolling to ensure every day from now until New Year’s Eve is bursting with memorable moments.

MARTY SUPREME – 25 DECEMBER
One of the best things about winter is wrapping up warm and staying indoors. And why wouldn’t you when there’s so much great stuff to watch? With awards season just over the horizon, December is a great chance to indulge in the year’s biggest movies ahead of 2026 – and Marty Supreme is top of our list. Produced by indie favourite A24 and directed by Josh Safdie, this star-studded period drama about a table tennis champion is sure to delight. Plus, it features a whirlwind romance between frontman Timothée Chalamet and Hollywood legend Gwyneth Paltrow. What more could you want?
AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH – 19 DECEMBER
From star studded to big budget – James Cameron’s Avatar series returns this month with a third instalment. Most of the original cast are returning, including Zoe Saldaña and Kate Winslet, along with all the mind-bending special effects you’d expect from the award-winning director. If you’re looking for a reason to leave the house in that sweet spot between Christmas and New Year, let this be it. After all, it’s guaranteed to entertain the whole family – and with a runtime of over three hours it’ll give you a nice break between all the cheese consumption.
STRANGER THINGS – 25 AND 31 DECEMBER
After dropping a gripping solo episode at the end of November, Stranger Things returns with the remainder of Season 5 later this month. The first of the remaining episodes will drop on Christmas Day – so apologies if you fancied a chilled one. That gives us a few days to recover from the Hawkins drama before we tune in for the final instalment on New Year's Eve. We have no idea what’s in store for our favourite friendship group, but we’re keeping everything crossed that 2026 won’t start in the wake of a fan-favourite death (here’s looking at you, Steve Harrington).

SAM FENDER, PEOPLE WATCHING: THE DELUXE ALBUM – 5 DECEMBER
For all the sofa slumping sure to take place over the festive period, there are plenty of reasons to leave the house in the meantime. Not least the string of parties on the agenda. And what pairs well with a good party? Music of course. Sam Fender is delivering on that front with the launch of his latest album on 5 December. The record will feature all the best of the original version along with eight exclusive songs including Talk to You with Elton John. That’s our winter walking playlist sorted.
NICKI MINAJ, PINK FRIDAY 2: THE HIATUS – 13 DECEMBER
For later nights and something worth dancing to, Nicki Minaj has you covered with her new Pink Friday record. Despite sharing a name with her iconic 2010 album, the rapper has confirmed her latest drop will feature entirely new songs that were ‘just way too iconic’ to be placed on a deluxe version of the OG. The word ‘hiatus’ should cause no panic, either. Nicki has confirmed she’s not going anywhere ahead of the launch.

PADDINGTON THE MUSICAL
If you fancy partaking in a wholesome activity this December, the theatre is your best bet. Nothing feels quite as festive as bundling into a packed auditorium and watching a show come to life – not least when it features old favourites like Paddington Bear. After the incredible success of the movie franchise, our familiar fuzzy friend is taking to the West End in a critically acclaimed stage production. With music and lyrics by McFly’s Tom Fletcher, and a seriously impressive animatronic puppet, this is the all-singing, all-dancing hug you didn’t know you needed.
CHRISTMAS MARKETS
Have you spent all winter fantasising about a Christmas market, and then never setting foot in one? Same here. The sheer volume of options is frankly overwhelming, and finding one that’s worth your time (no overpriced, watery mulled wine thank you) can be a full-time job. Well, we’ve done the hard work for you. London’s best festive markets can be divided into two categories: the OTT and the understated. For the former, nowhere beats Winter Wonderland – complete with festive rides, live music and enough food to sink a ship. But if you don’t fancy battling crowds, the Southbank Centre promises independent stalls, warming food and a slower pace of festive cheer (those views of the Thames are an added bonus).
THAMES LIDO
Speaking of the Thames, consider a day trip this December. Whether you’re based in the city or just fancy an alternative option for your festive gatherings, Thames Lido in Reading is a gorgeous wellness escape. You can swim in the heated pool, opt for a sauna or hot tub, and even book a massage package. Plus, the entire place has been artfully decorated with festive lights and seasonal florals. Just over an hour from central London, this wintry excursion is well worth booking in advance.
THE HOLIDAY IN CONCERT – 7 DECEMBER
It wouldn’t be December without mention of at least one festive film. And in what has become a viral annual event, some of the most enchanting Christmas movies are available to watch alongside live music. This year, you can head to the Eventim Apollo to watch The Holiday, complete with a concert orchestra playing in perfect harmony with the full running of the film. This sells out fast, so if it sounds up your street, you’d better grab a ticket quickly.
