OUTFIT INSPO: TAYLOR SWIFT ERAS TOUR

The Tortured Poets Department is finally here, and *hello* double album! Does Taylor ever sleep? We’ve had the album on repeat since it dropped, and now we’re even more excited for The Eras Tour to hit UK shores. If you managed to get tix: 1. We salute you, cause that was no easy feat, and 2. You know the next thing you'll need is a Gorgeous 'fit. We've broken down each era with our top picks (incl. TTPD!) – all you need to do is choose your fave...

TAYLOR SWIFT (DEBUT)

Are you a debut stan? Take inspo from teenage Tay's country influences and choose a summer dress in white, green or baby blue for big boho vibes – and don't forget cowboy boots, ofc! P.S. If you wanna go the extra mile, style your hair into big bouncy curls that old-school Taylor would be proud of.

FEARLESS

If Fearless is your era, we've got two words for you: gold fringe. This is the album that catapulted Taylor from country teen to commercial success (hello, Love Story), and there's no better way to celebrate it than with a colour that screams first place.

SPEAK NOW

Speak Now has got to be Taylor's most *enchanting* era, so make tulle and babydoll dresses the priority. Oh, and if there's one thing you do – make sure you're in H2T purple. Sparks are defo gonna fly...

RED

OK, let's just get the obvious out of the way – wearing the colour red is obvs a great idea if you wanna channel this era. But you can also choose one of Taylor's mega hits to take inspo from (we're looking at you, 22) by rocking a cool slogan tee and the signature red lip. And don't sleep on the *iconic* black hat...

1989

Judging by the stats, 1989 is Taylor's most successful album (Now That We Don't Talk is our Roman empire), so you wanna make sure you get it right. Take inspo from a heavy hitter like Bad Blood with your besties for the ultimate girl-squad vibes, or keep it tonal with dreamy shades of blue.

REPUTATION

Swifties know that when Rep dropped, Taylor wiped her socials and posted a snake pic. And judging by her recent reptilian looks, we predict it'll be the next (Taylor's Version) to be released... So basically, snake print is the one if you're dressing for this era. Want something super easy? Try an all-black 'fit with plenty of leather.

LOVER

We have a real soft spot for Lover. It's the first album actually owned by Taylor after leaving her record label (yes, girl!) and Cruel Summer is an absolute banger (we can't wait to belt out the bridge either). Pay homage to the era with a pastel palette, sequins, hearts and femme touches.

FOLKLORE

Taylor took a break from the pop albums to give us Folklore in the summer of 2020, and it was just what we needed. It's giving cottagecore, with prairie dresses, floaty skirts and (obv) cardigans in muted hues being the main inspo.

EVERMORE

Taylor gave us folksy with her last album and Evermore is an incred continuation. Take inspo from the album cover with autumnal shades ft. earthy browns and oranges in free-flowing shapes and soft-to-touch textures. Extra points for a checked jacket and a tousled plait.

MIDNIGHTS

Question... ? Is it just us or does Midnights just hit different? Either way, if this is the era you wanna roll with then there's two ways to go: literally, with midnight blues and purples (Lavender Haze, we see u) or full-on Bejeweled vibes complete with a rainbow fringe jacket, just like Taylor's on-stage Karma 'fit.

THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT

If you want to represent Taylor’s newest album, we predict it’s going to be all about the monochrome palette with mensy tailoring and romantic touches. TTPD is on a similar wavelength to Folklore and Evermore, but a little more structured. Think oversized white shirts paired with satin skirts, stacked jewellery and bold lips.
