FIT CHECK: WEDDING EDITION
By Alice Doleman, 15 July 2022
Elizabeth (5ft10 and wearing size 8), Lyza (5ft11 and wearing size 22) and Sheerah (5ft3 and wearing size 10) in the ASOS EDITION satin top & midi skirt with split, starting from £58.
After chatting to all our models, it's clear that (just like with festival looks) comfort is key. Weddings are often long days with plenty of dancing, delicious meals and probs some celebratory seccie at some point (alcohol-free or otherwise 🥂), so the ‘sit-down’ test will be making a re-appearance. Coined by Sheerah, it helps you figure out if there'll be material digging in at any stage. We defs don’t want that, and that’s why Sheerah opts for something 'airy, that’s easy to move around in', like this gorgeous (and eye-catching, cos we still wanna pull a LOOK 💁) draped orange co-ord from ASOS EDITION.
Sheerah (5ft3 and wearing size 10), Elyshia (6ft and wearing size 14) and Lyza (5ft11 and wearing size 22) in the ASOS LUXE Curve co-ord suit in green and ASOS LUXE co-ord suit in cinnamon, starting from £30 and £15.
Weddings are a wonderful excuse for you to get faaaancy (not that we need one, have you seen the pieces on ASOS LUXE and ASOS EDITION?) and that’s exactly what Elizabeth is gonna do. She’s dressing up any outfit with 'chic bags and elegant accessories' - plus, she loves rocking satin materials because the movement when she's dancing is 10/10.
Elyshia is all about a striking suit - she feels like a wide-leg trouser with an oversized blazer is the ideal combo for her shape, although she sometimes struggles to find the perfect trouser length. Not with this ASOS LUXE pair tho (the same goes for trousers from our Tall section in general). This look 'makes me feel empowered', says Elyshia, and we all know feeling confident before you go out is the first step to having a good time.
Elizabeth (5ft10 and wearing size 8), Lyza (5ft11 and wearing size 22) and Iona (5ft and wearing size 6) in the ASOS EDITION bright floral embellished fringe mini dress, £205.
Lyza echoes this: 'I want to wear something that enhances my confidence by 10'. For a wedding, she’s looking for something that makes a statement (think this gorge embellished dress or something with bold colours) but it absolutely HAS to feel supportive, 'I wear whatever I want. It’s only the boob fitting that concerns me.' Look for thicker straps or dresses that can easily be paired with your fave supportive bra if the same is the case for you. Side note: an oversized suit paired with your fave bra is also a winner 🏆
Both Iona and Lyza have the same top tip for wedding dressing: understand your style and find subtle ways to play with it. Whether that's with new shapes, bright colours or a fresh makeup look, this'll have you feeling your most confident for the day/night ahead ✨
