Hailed as the UK's version of Missy Elliott, (a comparison which led to the rap queen herself featuring on Bree's recent track 'ATM'), Bree's new banger 'HOT HOT' is a MUST for your SS21 playlist – and the Hackney native is one to watch in the style stakes, too. To find out more, we sat down with the artist-to-know to chat about the collection, her new single, and her casual plans for global domination.

First off, what do you think about the PUMA drop?
Oh, it's super, super cute. The clothes are really comfy and I love how you can dress them up and down. Like, in these three looks, I've gone out to the club, I've met a guy on a date and I have my everyday sexy-sporty look, too. You can dress this any way you want and you can put your own spin on it 💅🏾

Is it making you excited for life after lockdown? 👀
Hell yes! There's something so summery about the outfits and I'm so excited to prance around in the PUMA legging shorts 24/7.

Personally, how has your style evolved over the years?
Before, I used to dress in eras. I had a punky era, a sporty era, a girly era... but now it's everything in one. My style is super punky, sexy and sporty all at the same time.

How does your style play a role in your public image? 📸
OMG, that's part of the reason why people love me, I think? Because my style is very one of one; it's very Bree Runway. I feel like it makes me easily recognisable, it makes me stand out and it also prepares you for what you're going to hear in my music, which is absolute madness.

Who’s your fashion icon?
I would say myself! 🙌🏾 Because I just love my ability to make nothing into something every single time. I can take something from a charity shop and make it look like I got it from a Dior fashion house. Every single time.

What’s your advice for young people trying to figure out their own style?
Go with what you're comfortable with. You don't need to do what everyone else is doing because that just gets a bit repetitive. So, don't feel afraid to step out of the mould and look like what your heart truly desires. Having your own style is power.

Tell us about your new single!
'HOT HOT' is literally what it says in the first line – ‘Hotter than the summer’! It's to get you in the mood; it's to get you on your feet. It was so much fun to make and so easy to put together and it's just all about feeling yourself.

Why is right now such an important moment for Black female artists?
I think it's important to share your voice now because more of the world is listening. And right now the world needs us. Young Black kids need us to not be a sob story. There are so many talented people in this world, and we really need to just go for what we want because there's more people listening now than ever.
