GROUP-CHAT PARTY LOOKS
By Steven Potter, 23 March 2020
So, if you’re anything like us, the group chat has taken on a much more vital role of late and the amount of time you spend video calling has skyrocketed. Even weekend drinks have been digitalised – and since you’re spending more time on screen, why not show off those looks, too? So, with group chats replacing pubs, bars and clubs all over the world, we thought we’d round up some of the very best dressing-up-to-stay-in looks that have dropped into our Insta recently.
Now, this is peak dressing up to stay in. Tailoring in general is having a real moment RN, with dadcore blazers fast becoming the hero piece of the trend. A one-item winner for elevating any look, it’ll guarantee to impress when your vid lands in the chat. Oh, and with Western boots that good, make sure you get them in-shot for the duration, too.
We were into sweatpants and cute tops before all of this – but now, with all of us spending more time indoors, it’s no surprise that comfy-cool looks have shot to the top of everyone’s Saved Items. Putting a suitably spring-y vibe on the look, @cinziabayliszullo has opted for some tie-dye joggers in a super-wearable hue with chunky trainers and a zip top. Comfy with a streetwear edge, this one's guaranteed to land in your mate’s chat.
So, with things being very, very, weird ATM, it’s no surprise most of us are spending our time looking to the future, envisioning all the fun we’re gonna have when life goes back to normal. Well, why not dress for the future, too? This metallic dress is giving us serious 3020 feels and things will have got better by then, right? Extra points for the cowboy boots, the second pair we’ve seen in this article alone – have you got yours yet?
The rule for dresses this season is definitely more is more. ICYMI, volume styles with all the (literal) trimmings are more ‘in’ than… well… us. Think maximalist maxi dresses with frills, lace, crochet – the whole deal. And that’s why we’ve picked this fantastic floral number – because if you can’t go out and enjoy spring, you might as well wear it instead.
Bad time to buy that new statement jacket, right? Wrong! Now’s the best time to show it off. Yeah, putting on a jacket to party with your friends in your bedroom might seem like a stretch, but when it complements the flared trousers and crop top as well as the above faux-leather piece does, why not flex it for everyone to see? Plus, you’ll be saving on the heating, too.
