ASOSERS WEAR LOW-KEY LUXE
By Eleanor Dunne, 6 August 2019
OK, so 'low-key' and 'luxe' are two of those terms that you probably see in high-fashion magazines all the time, but what do they actually mean? Well, let us break it down for you: it’s all about smart, sophisticated dressing that is relaxed and, most importantly: comfortable. To show you what we mean, here's four of our ASOSers to demonstrate how it’s done...
There is quite possibly nothing better than a dress that is easy and elegant at the same time; it's guaranteed to be your go-to for those days when you can’t find anything to wear. Here, CRM executive Bethany looks low-key AF in this zebra-print number. To give the baggier silhouette that extra bit of structure, she's added a belt for a little bit more polish. Genius.
Next up, we have another one-piece wonder that will make your life a helluva lot easier: the utility jumpsuit. And here, Marketing Graduate Georgina shows us how true that is, especially when said all-in-one comes in a sweet coffee shade like her number does. Pair with cons and a knowing smile, cos you’ve just won at low-key luxe.
Hands up if you have a favourite pair of trousers that would leave you heartbroken if they ever finally kicked the bucket? (Which is very possible considering the amount of times you wear them each week.) CRM Strategy Executive Mel’s pinstripe pants are the perfect example. They’re smart, comfy and classic – just add a white tee and some slides and you’ve got the perfect Monday workwear look. Especially after a weekend of partying that little bit too hard (we've all been there).
And finally, Project Coordinator Genevieve shows us what happens when an apron silhouette meets low-key luxe: this wonderfully chic grey dress. The definition of understated elegance, this is one our Parisian friends and their excellent taste would approve of. Add chunky sandals for a bit of an edge. Ooh la la.
