5 OF THE BEST VACATION ESSENTIALS
By Aimee Fisher, 23 May 2019
Okay, so how many times this week have you declared “I need a holiday”? Cos, same here. Whether you’re already counting down the days to your next trip or you’re just after any excuse to book some future flights, here’s five key pieces to make you even more excited to get out of town.
Is it even a holiday without a straw hat? And it’s a keeper for a reason – it gives you a welcome break from the sun without having to leave your style at home. This versatile neutral-toned one is a great choice that goes with everything from floaty maxi dresses to city-break-ready jumpsuits.
If you pack one thing to take away with you, a cute piece (or, you know, several) of swimwear is def it. Whether you’re into swimsuits or live your best life in bikinis, it’s all about finding something you feel great in. We’re loving the peachy-glam, 70s bond-girl feel of this Warehouse number, with a special shout out to its buckled belt detailing.
Shoes is one thing we’re *totally* guilty of bringing too many of, so save space by opting for a pair that works for all kinds of activities. Like these woven print sandals by Teva. They’re comfy AF thanks to their spongey soles, and they feel as appropes with sun dresses for daytime strolls as with slightly dressier numbers for late-night al-fresco dinners.
Do it bright
Nothing says ‘out of office’ like switching your standard black handbag over to something sunnier. Last summer’s woven accessory trend has a new-season glow up in the form of bright new shades, and this bag's got sunny escape written all over it. Best of all, it looks just as good sightseeing as it does beside the pool, and will hold all your essentials with ease.
New sunnies are the best way to get in the holiday mood (and hopefully when you get home too, if you bring the weather back with you). If you want to switch it up from your go-to tortoiseshell or black styles, check out this pair from Ray-Ban. We’re really into the square shape and lighter-coloured lenses right now – eye-catching indeed.
