NEW YORK STREET-STYLE ROUND-UP
By Eleanor Dunne, 13 February 2019
There’s been a lot of major runway moments this New York Fashion Week, from Tomo Koizumi’s fantastical organza dresses to Eckhaus Latta’s beaded-knitwear melange (which were accompanied by UGG mules, obvs). Plus, the NYC sidewalks have been serving some seriously good moments. We're talking everything from bold suiting to slick accessories – so, without further ado, here are six looks that caught our attention over the last few days.

Still a showgoer favourite, tailoring continues to be big this season. There were plenty of classic tweeds and pared-back whites, but Harper’s Bazaar Editor Chrissy Rutherford and her scarlet ensemble stood out against the grey New York backdrop. Patent boots, skinny sunglasses and a sleek up-do provide the edgy finishing touches.

Blogger Evangelie Smyrniotaki puts a cool spin on the utility trend with this look. She takes an oversized, boxy Alexander Wang shirt, buttons it up to the top and cinches in the waist with a belt before pairing it with laid-back sweat pants. Point-toe booties give it a grown-up touch, while those visors add a slick futuristic feel. So good.

The Chanel show isn’t until Paris Fashion Week in March, but we don’t have to wait till then for some Parisian chic 'fits. This street-styler’s tweed suit and white turtleneck channels that sophisticated French vibe. As if it wasn’t cute enough, she adds a beret for that touch of je ne sais quoi.

OK, so the bum bag/cross-body sitch is getting a sleeker update for AW19. Sporty styles are still a go, but, for a more polished moment, a leather-look option is just the ticket. Prepare to see Xenia Adonts' Fendi version and its detachable belt a lot over the next few weeks in the fashion cities' street-style.

Toned-down brown shades took centre stage this season, with a range of styles coming in earthy tones. This street-styler went for a so-2019 satin terracotta dress and layered it over a turtleneck (note: this is how to wear your fancier frock now). As if two browns weren't enough, she added mahogany slouch boots. Just beautiful.

You can't beat a 'low fuss but still on-point' look, and this boilersuit is just that. It would appear the all-in-one isn't going anywhere soon and we’re pretty happy about it. This model pairs hers with chunky Dr. Martens and a puffer jacket. Your new comfy-but-cool weekend outfit is sorted.
