STYLE LESSONS FROM MEN'S FASHION MONTH
By Eleanor Dunne, 18 January 2019
While the men's AW19 fashion shows have been serving up plenty of strong looks on the catwalks, the sidewalks are where the real style inspo can be found. And we must say, the guys are really bringing their A-game to the fashion cities this season. From styling hacks to the freshest accessory trends, they’ve got plenty to teach us in the fashion department. So, here are six things to work into your wardrobe now.

Snake it up
In case you didn’t know, snake print is huge RN. This street-styler shows us how to do it in a super classy way, wearing an open shirt over a cream rollneck on top of neutral tailored trousers. The result? A sophisticated 'fit that vibes off the 70s trend. Ssssso good.

The bucket list
The bucket hat was the headgear of choice at the Paris shows, proving the 90s trend isn't going anywhere. Great! We're also loving this look's sportswear-tailoring mix, while the chest rig bag is another accessory that got a lot of outings.

Layer player
Statement gilets guarded the stylish set against the chill in between shows. You might usually sport one under your outerwear for an extra bit of warmth, but why hide it away? Take a tip from this street-styler and layer it over your coat for a fresh approach.

Pick a pocket
Utility details were another main player this season, and cargo pants with oversized pockets took a starring role. This is one trend we saw throughout the most recent womenswear collections, too – think Fendi, Isabel Marant and Dior. Go for a khaki pair and mix them with sporty silhouettes for a slick laid-back look.

Take flight
Put down your chunky choker cos a flight bag worn like a necklace is your new accessory update. Just pick the smallest one you can find, preferably in a bright colour, and don’t overpack it to avoid neck strain.

Highlighter hues
Minimalists, this is how you do neon. This street-styler rocks a highlighter hue in a (kinda) low-key way, layering a hoody under an all-black ensemble for a pop of shocking green. A chest bag and chunky trainers finish the outfit nicely.

Hi-tech trek
'Hi-tech trainers your Dad would be proud of' is the new sneaker trend you need to know about. Balenciaga’s much-hyped Track runner is the label’s latest kick to pound the pavements across the fashion cities. Look to the Nike Vapormax for the same turbo-performance vibe that's set to be big in 2019.
