With folksy, floral prints, traditional detailing and a subtly modern edge, London-based label Ghospell represents the next generation of vintage-inspired dressing. We’ve had a sneak peek at its latest offering and put together a few little something-somethings to add to your Christmas wishlist.
NEW DROP: GHOSPELL
By Justine Fedorowycz, 20 December 2018
Nothing short of a Christmas miracle, this pine-green tartan smock dress isn’t just totally in keeping with the festive season, it’s also got that roomy, oversized thing going on, so there’s no need to change into your power-stretch leggings post Christmas lunch (can we all take a moment to appreciate the sports-luxe stripe splashed across it, too?). Alternatively, if you had your heart set on wearing that just-unwrapped jumper on the big day, then this midaxi skirt in all the prints would make a fine plus-one.
Sticking with the seasonal colour palette, these green and red midi dresses are seriously making us reconsider our pre-planned Boxing Day outfit (read: pyjamas). And while both dresses are decked out in floral ditsy prints, it’s the little things that really set them apart, like the ruffle trims on the green one and the cutesy slip pockets on the other. We recommend serving up both with all the trimmings: snowy white kicks, matching ankle socks and gold hoop earrings.
Is it even Christmas if you aren’t wearing something shiny? The tonal zebra print on the shirt to the left gives it a barely there sheen, while the not-so-subtle sleeves help redress the balance. Meanwhile, the shirt over on the right may seem like your average white cotton number, but look a little closer and you’ll notice that it’s actually channelling more of an ultra-fem vibe. Need-to-know details include a lace collar, pussy-bow tie and frill trims that’ll take you from 2018 into 2019 in style. Oh, and did we mention both shirts are exclusive to ASOS?
