BEAUTY TREND: METALLIC PARTY MAKEUP

Party season is the perfect time to play with maximalist makeup, even if you normally go for a more natural vibe. And what better trend to try than a dancefloor-ready metallic look? To get you up to speed, here’s our guide to getting your shine on this season.
Start with a great primer, which will ensure your makeup stays on for ages – you'll be grateful once you hit that dancefloor. Next, reach for the foundation. We're loving MAC's Studio Fix at the moment for two reasons: you can layer it up to create the look you want, and it's available on ASOS in 53 shades. That means it’s super-easy to find your perfect match. Top tip: start from the centre of your face and blend outwards for an even finish.
Next comes the fun part: the eyes. Blend a dark silver or gold shadow on your eyelid with a brush up to the crease. Then, apply a lighter metallic shade on the inner corner to dial it up another notch. Want some HD definition? Add a liquid liner to the top and bottom. Then, if you want to get a high-gloss finish, go for a translucent eye gloss like this great non-sticky formula from ASOS DESIGN. And the glow doesn't have to stop at the eyes: a metallic blush and some highlighter on the cheeks and brow bones just earned this look a gold star.
