INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

5 CONVINCING CASES FOR POWDER PINK

It's no secret that Scandinavia is one of the world's most stylish regions. So, naturally, all eyes were on the recent Copenhagen Fashion Week to suss out the latest trends on the street. What did we learn this time? That pink is definitely still a thing. While the showgoers offered a varied palette that ranged from hot pink to the palest rose, the shade that really stood out to us was powder pink. Seen on everything from pyjama suits to gauzy dresses, we've decoded the pink dress code of dos and don'ts to keep it interesting (not infantile).

Matchy-matchy

Who would have thought head-to-toe pink could look so damn chic? One way to nail it is to choose masculine separates of a feminine shade this oversized shirt and pyjama-style bottoms are blokey enough to stop you looking like a powder princess. The beaded bag by Ganni is just the right amount of cute, while the shocking pink pumps add a bit of extra sass. Keep your hair and makeup simple  oh, and sci-fi sunnies are an absolute must.

On Wednesdays, we wear...

Regina George would be so jealous of this stylish duo. The best way to wear pink is, of course, to mix your tones with your bestest gal. Choose a mega oversized shirt tucked into a pair of crisp white bottoms for a sophisticated take, or, instead, go for a billowy shirt dress with cowboy boots for a more bohemian look. Then, just nail the accessories with a tiny bag and rose-tinted spectacles. So fetch.

Sporty spice

Here's one for those of you too afraid to dive headfirst into head-to-toe pink. The splices of burgundy in this pleated skirt keep it from looking too girly, while the sporty sneakers and mega on-trend Dior saddle bag give the skirt an urban edge. All you need to complete the look is a simple white tee and a leather jacket

Big girl's blouse

We've fallen hard for this silky pink poets blouse with its oversized cut, billowy sleeves and ruched wrist detail. But what makes it even cooler is the fact that this street-styler has paired it with bang-on-trend legging shorts, instead of a tailored trouser. Accessorise with a simple gold necklace and hot pink sneakers and that Ganni bag, again  before getting your sidekick to don a pair of fluoro pink sneakers, too. His and hers, x1000.

Legally blonde

Elle Woods ain't got nothing on this street-style star. Wearing her ribbon-tie waist satin jumpsuit with a masculine pink blazer shoulder-robed over the top, a ladylike bag with a contrast pastel strap and bright white sunnies keep this looking cool. To round it off, follow her lead with stacked rings and necklaces bracelets before throwing your hair in a low bun for the ultimate laid-back finish.
