INSPIRATION AND ADVICE

3 ZINGY ORANGE OUTFITS

If there’s one thing the spring/summer shows teach us each year, it's the importance of embracing colour after a long, heavily layered season of burnt tones and rusty hues. And SS18 was no exception. Bright yellows, grassy greens and plush pinks teetered down the runways show after show, along with a welcome newcomer: juicy orange. The street-style set are totally on board too – from full looks to just a little something something, here are three ways to wear the most fun citrus shade now.

Double strength

Tom Ford convinced us of the power of head-to-toe orange with an ultra-zingy leather tracksuit at his SS18 show, which, although exquisite, might feel a little on the sweltering side right now. Enter this hella fresh hot-weather alternative. A retro popper tracksuit with matching utility belt and cropped jacket? Yes, yes and yes. It works so well because the silhouette is relaxed and sporty, and the sleek logo trims bring all the 90s nostalgia.

Orange squash

If block-coloured orange (or any colour for that matter) frightens you to your core, that’s totally fine – there’s still something we can work with. The inspiration? This beauty at the couture shows in Paris last week. Add a little squeeze of orange to your favourite print – as seen at Marc Jacobs via graphic 60s patterns – to make florals and silky pyjama suits feel brand new. Extra style points for working that matching footwear too.

Just a slice

If you’re a minimalist, who considers navy an adventurous colour choice, may we suggest dipping your toe into the orange trend with a cute little accessory first. The very definition of a 'splash of colour', this refreshingly bright clutch is a segment of orange worth hanging on to. Wear with your favourite sundress and sandals for instant fancy feels.
