3 WAYS TO WEAR CHECKS FOR SUMMER
By Grace Cook, 3 July 2018
From schoolgirl kilts and lumberjack plaids to flouncy Dorothy in Oz ginghams, there are so many different check prints to choose from, each with their own distinct sartorial personalities. This season, the pattern appeared on the runway at the likes of Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga and Burberry – certifiable proof that checks have never been more in. Here are three ultra-cool ways to wear the trend…

90s baby
Nothing incites Clueless vibes more than a colourful checked skirt. But rather than going into full-on Cher mode and pairing it with the matching blazer (and making sure that your outfit matches your best mate's, duh), blend Cher's style with pre-makeover Tai instead and you’re onto a summer outfit winner: just sling a check sweater around your waist to totally change up your look. A cute day heel and a check handbag will make for the perfect accessories, trust.

Clash 'em up
Adding an ounce of flamenco fun to your summer wardrobe with a frilly top is always a good idea – especially when it’s made from contrasting checks. After all, why wear one check when you can wear two? This black and white gingham number feels super-girlie but just wear it with trainers to give it a whole different attitude.

Work it
Typically, a checked suit tends to feel mega-businesslike – but not when it comes in a delicious shade of candied pink like this one. Make sure to team it with a hot-pink crop top, because what's more anti-boardroom than a flash of midriff? To finish, pop on a pair of statement earrings for a workwear win.
