3 SUMMER SUNGLASSES SHAPES
By Maybelle Morgan, 23 June 2018
Audrey Hepburn in jet-black blocks, Lolita’s infamous heart-shaped sunnies, Jackie O in bug-eyed lenses. The proof is in the pudding that a good pair of sunglasses are transformative. And for your SS18 looks, there’s no other accessory that has such an instant impact. Here are the shapes we’re loving…

City of angles
Angular composition, sharp corners, blade-like lines. Yes, for a statement addition to your ensemble, it’s all about sunnies that relish in precision, with a distinctive retro feel. Whether you’re opting for tinted lenses (in ice-cool blue or moodier purple), 60s-style white chunky frames or knife-sharp half-moons (bonus points to the sleek bronze finish), it’s all about getting straight to the point.

Retro rays
Razor-thin 90s lenses are a celeb favourite right now, as a quick scroll through Instagram will confirm. But let’s acknowledge that they first made their way into our consciousness via pre-teen style icons Mary-Kate and Ashley. And for this summer, you can opt for minimal black, retro tinted with gold metal frames, mossy cat-eye frames, or eye-grabbing red lenses with perspex frames. Just remember: the smaller, the better.

The future is bright
Disclaimer: these are not for the faint-hearted. On the bolder end of the spectrum, they're perfect for giving your outfits a futuristic level of wow. You’ll spot them via their flat, connected lenses and oversized shapes. This season, we’re wearing them big, blocky, tinted or mirrored. The DeLorean awaits.
