HOW TO DO 80S DAYTIME
By Maybelle Morgan, 20 May 2018
Colour! Print! Actual fun! There’s no doubt that the return of the 80s has ushered in a feel-good era for your wardrobe, with head-to-toe looks that don’t take themselves too seriously. And the trend hasn’t gone unnoticed among the street-style masses, who are trading up their minimal staples for something a little brighter and bolder. Case in point, this blogger with a perfectly clash-worthy look…

Whatever you’ve heard in the past about complimentary colours and keeping it tasteful just went out of the window – and in good time for spring, too. At the centre of it all is something so overtly bad taste and 80s that you can’t not love it. A leopard-print skirt in bold primary colours not only draws the eye, but it's made day-appropriate with the fancier plissé texture and ankle-grazing length.

And to bring it to life: follow suit and add instant fun to your spring getups with a bright red leopard-print midi skirt with flouncy ruffles. To go gung-ho on the 80s thing, clash up the red with a retro cropped roll-neck in bright turquoise, but keep the look modern by opting for a clutch bag in SS18-fave tartan checks. Balance the ensemble out and keep it right for your weekend thing by opting for minimal accessories: brown-tinted shades for that sleeker, low-key 90s nod and chunky technical white sneaks to add a cool, casual feel.
