STYLING
HOW ASOSERS DO SPRING STYLE
By Maybelle Morgan, 12 April 2018
What’s that? Is that a little sliver of sunshine trying to force itself through the clouds? Well, that’s what we'll keep telling ourselves anyway... It’s halfway through April and we’re still waiting for spring, which will (hopefully) mean warmer and brighter times – starting first with our wardrobes. So, check out what the ASOS staff are wearing to welcome in the new season…

That '70s show
OK, so florals for spring might not be the most groundbreaking thing ever. But for your own take on the tea dress, follow in Celia’s footsteps with this oh-so-pretty geometric number. To balance out the ruffle detailing and loud 70s print, layer the midi dress over some plain blue skinnies and nude treads.

Checkmate
Just because autumn/winter is over, that doesn't mean our obsession with heritage checks is too. See Jo here, taking traditional influences and turning them into a 90s street-style 'fit. She wears her checks in the form of an oversized camel shirt and keeps the rest of her look minimal: straight-leg denim, white tube socks and chunky white trainers.

Scandi chic
If there’s one thing our Scandi neighbours do exceedingly well, it’s fresh spring style. Think minimal and clean-cut silhouettes in bright colour palettes. Exhibit A? Julia in a graphic funnel-neck knit in contrast reds (hair tucked in for a more chic feel), paired with white wide-leg denim. And there’s nothing like getting your feet out to signal the start of spring, and mustard heeled mules do the job nicely.

Say it right
With the potential of warmer weather brings the hope that we can shed at least one fleecy layer, right? Well, there are more realistic and subtle ways of letting your skin finally see daylight. A granddad-style slogan knitted vest (in bright minty green, no less) gets clashed up with sporty joggers with low-key perforated hems and chunky technical trainers.

Red alert
SS18 doesn’t have to be all florals and frilly tea dresses, either. For some, it just means paring down the heavy layering to make way for something cooler. Here, Tina mashes up eclectic pieces: a sporty slogan-tipped jersey and mom jeans with a grungy check. To finish, white triple-strap sneaks add retro Saved By The Bell vibes.

Camo girl
While spring gets its bearings like a newborn deer, we’re aware it’s still pretty chilly – and so, we’re all about rocking autumn palettes to keep things real. Nierodha pairs her camouflage utility trousers with a bold orange roll-neck and amps up the texture with a cord cream puffer jacket. Then, off-white trainers keep the outfit casual but cool.
