If we told you that your new hair saviour was originally formulated for horses, you’d probably tell us to get out of the stable, right? But Mane 'n Tail is the equestrian-to-human beauty brand crossover we never knew we needed. The formulas were originally created on a family farm in New Jersey for show ponies, to keep their manes glossy and strong, but it was when the owners started using the products themselves that word spread. Now available on ASOS, get to know our favourites…

Wash me

Hey, if it’s good enough to clean the length and thickness of a horse’s mane, you know it’s gonna be heavy-duty enough to take on whatever’s going on with your barnet. On contact with water, it creates a super rich lather to gently remove impurities without stripping the hair of its natural oils.

Soft-hair team

If you’re repping unruly locks (think Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries level), this is the one for you. Enriched with nourishing vitamins and proteins, the formula strengthens and replenishes damaged hair, leaving it manageable and soft. Use after shampooing once or twice a week for an overall healthier ‘do.

Leave it out

There’s no doubt about it: of the animal kingdom, the horse brings all the goals when it comes to hair. And if you’ve ever openly coveted the thick, strong swish of a mane (nope, just us?), then this strengthening spray is a good place to start. A daily leave-in conditioning treatment, it protects hair from heat, while also repairing strands and encouraging growth.

Love me knot

If trying to get a brush through your hair (without snapping your hairbrush in half) is a mission of epic proportions, this de-knotting, detangling spray is about to make life a whole lot easier. The gentle pH balanced formula nourishes the strands, making hair more manageable and easier to comb through. Split ends even look minimised for a smoother, sleeker mane.
