BROW POMADES ARE OUR NEW OBSESSION

By Maybelle Morgan, 7 April 2018

The 00s are over. Our eyebrows no longer need fear their fate when our tweezers hover readily over them. Thick and healthy is the ticket, and if you never really recovered from the decade of razor-arches, it’s a case of fake it till you make it. Yes, we’ve meddled with pencils and gels, but there’s a lesser known member of the brow arsenal that could turn out to be your saviour: pomades. Creamy, long-lasting goodness – to be applied with a brush. Here are three for every budget

Super-blendable? Check. Winning formula (creamy, but also somewhat powdery for a realistic look)? Check check. And stays put, all night long? Yes, and for just over a fiver. Using an angled brush to apply the product and shape your brows can be fiddly first time around, but once you’re used to it, you’ll never look back.

NYX Professional Makeup Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade, £6.50

If you’re a nervous first-time brow pomader, this two-in-one product could be the one (a brush is always handy, right?). Plus, bonus points to the perfectly compact packaging for easy day-to-night touch-ups. The creamy gel texture means that the formula is a little lighter, aka easier when tidying up mistakes. But don’t be fooled. It’s waterproof and will stay until you don’t want it to anymore.

Splurge

Whether it’s panic from unexpected showers or stuffy commutes, you’d always like to think that your makeup is worth its salt in staying power. And if not? It’s time to splash out a little. This is where the MAC brow pomade comes in. Sweat, humidity and smudge-proof, but in a light creamy texture that doesn’t feel too heavy under the harsh bus lights. Oh, and it lasts forever. Thumbs up.
