Now. If you hear the words kilt skirt suit, what springs to mind? Cher from Clueless? Your primary school uniform maybe? Well, let us all retrain our brains to fall back in love with the twinset of dreams that is a working woman’s skirt suit.

Caroline Daur, a German blogger whose style we have a particular penchant for, has absolutely, completely, redefined how to wear the two-piece. There are some clear takeouts here, which make this whole scenario the most perfect workwear look to try this week.
First up, the monochrome theme seems to really be working here. Black's not boring when turbocharged like this. Each bit of this outfit works hard individually, and would look just as chic worn separately with jeans, cosy knits or trainers. The white tee is key too – it makes the whole thing much less corporate. And finally the boots: they’re so elegant, not even a little bit scuffed, and aren’t too high to be NSFW. In a word, perfection.
