Good denim is the backbone of any wardrobe, and while the classic blue jean staples can provide you with years of faithful 'goes with everything' service, there’s nothing like some new-season niceness to spruce things up. Here’s how ASOSers are wearing theirs…
HOW ASOSERS DO NEW-SEASON DENIM
By Maybelle Morgan, 15 February 2018
By now we know that denim doesn’t have to come in the standard spectrum of colours to add some finesse to your wardrobe. Upgrade your blue, blacks and greys just in time for spring by updating classic 90s silhouettes with granny-chic wallpaper prints. Cutesy mom-style dungarees get a vintage lift in cream with ditsy florals – and Lottie layers hers over a grey oversized tee, which acts as a plain base, before brightening the look up at the toes with sorbet pastel high-tops.

Functional, minimal and oh-so-cool, utility is in right now and your jeans have benefited big time. In a skater-style cropped length, Lily matches the contrast stitching detail with her fluffy chartreuse roll-neck. Props also go to the final citrus colour palette consideration: monochrome trainers with a bright orange tongue.

Think your fave denim ‘fits meets primary-school-in-the-90s vibes, with this patchwork jacket featuring pastel accents in a boxy fit. Lakeisha ups the retro thing by going double, pairing her jacket with turned-up mom jeans and a printed white tee. Chunky Nike AF1s seal the street-wear fresh deal.

Make an 80s statement on your denim this year, with bright and bold colour-blocking, just like this cropped beauty. Bright shades on texture-heavy fabrics are a great way to ease yourself into spring, and Celia ups the ante with paper-bag waist trousers in off-white cord. To finish? Grunge up the whole affair with badass hardware boots.
