Hair accessories get a bad rap. If it ain’t a hat, any other extracurricular activity going on above the shoulders is often dismissed as childish or tacky. However, thanks to our current obsession with the 80s and all things garish, we’re having fun with plastic-fantastic add-ons. At the top of our list? Bright and blinged-up hair accessories. Bling was in full effect at Ashley Williams' SS18 show. The magpie effect hit all the accessories, but our eyes were on the tacky-fantastic hair slides, pushed onto sleek side-parted hair and shouting out rhinestone slogans. Two on each side with graphic eyeliner? Into it.

ASOS Insider Sophia pushes the boundaries of fun and playful with her throwback-to-primary-school ’do. The key here is the mix of sleek with bold and borderline clunky, as glossy hair gets art-attacked with evenly spaced bright crocodile clips. Sophia finishes the look with a minimal makeup base, but strong af brows.

If you’re not quite ready to fully ornament your head (multiple rows of bling can seem a bit intimidating, eh?), get your kitsch kicks from the actual hair accessory itself. We’re feeling this double pack of silver slides which deliver up eccentric minimal shapes with a Scandi vibe. Side-part hair and neatly slick your fringe back with one slide two inches from the parting and the other slide two inches above the ear. So good.
