STYLING

HOW ASOSERS ARE WEARING VANS

By Maybelle Morgan, 18 January 2018

The days may pass and seasons change, but the old style truism remains: Vans are for life. Whether you’re a Slip-On kinda girl or sturdy lace-ups are more your deal, the skate sneaker brand always brings the goods – and, naturally, ASOS staff are into it. See how they’re styling their canvas…

Street chic

If your vibe is less dainty and a little more skate, it’s all about the Sk8-Hi. With cushioned ankle detailing and in easy monochrome, Maggie uses hers to add a mensy street look to her getup. A graphic sweat plus camo trousers make for a comfy-cool feel, while a plastic mac adds that AW17-fave Blade Runner texture.

Checkmate

This classic trainer-slipper hybrid has been around for time – and for good reason, too. Officially the comfiest shoe in the deck, the checkerboard pattern provides a dose of subtle print to any outfit and Lottie grounds a bold outfit with hers. A graphic tee + tomato wide-leg trousers + printed Slip-Ons = so good.

Up high

When chunky technical sneaks or plain tennis shoes just won’t do, these wrapped-up high-tops bring that extra grungy something. Take Olivia here, adding some edge to the cutesy kitsch feels of her denim cow-print co-ord. Bravo.

Feeling blue

For a hint of low-key colour to brighten up your everyday looks, it’s all about the Sk8-Hi with blue panelling. Nierodha plays with proportions and silhouettes then pairs her high-tops with cropped marl kick-flares. A ruched jersey crop top with 90s XXL hoops finishes the outfit.
