HOW ASOSERS DO FESTIVE KNITWEAR
By Maybelle Morgan, 23 December 2017
It’s that magical time of year when inhibitions are shed and sensible taste is cast into the wind to make way for next-level cosiness in the form of alarmingly bright festive jumpers. Now if you’re into knitwear, but not into sleigh bells or nativity scenes emblazoned on your torso, there’s a way to do Christmas without going OTT kitsch. Here’s how the ASOS staff are repping printed festive knitwear…
If you’re looking for a comfy statement, this panelled roll-neck is 100% knitted goodness and very befitting of the current 80s resurgence. With retro arcade shades in chevron print, Bella balances the subtly fitted proportions of the top half with some plain wide-leg trousers and some chunky white technical trainers.

For a instant dose of jolly festivity but with print longevity which means you can wear it all year round, it’s all about bold rainbow stripes. Lotte plays with proportions and wears hers oversized with a pleated midi skirt, and adds texture with fishnet tights and patent Chelsea boots.

Dogtooth has a reputation as a somewhat posh print, so inject some fun into your interpretation with a cobalt-blue version in oversized fit. Sarah keeps it casj with some tapered mom jeans but adds a dose of fun by clashing up the print with some leopard-print brogues.

ICYMI, this season it’s all about classic English heritage checks, which means dogtooth, tartan and windowpane squares are getting some serious airtime right now. But for that statement update, switch up the colour palette with a streak of electric blue running through your Scottish print. Fiona finishes with raw-edge mom jeans and some white comfy sneaks.

The half-zip is where it’s at this season, but go uber 80s with your vibe with a black ribbed version in Pac-Man citrus shades and detailing. Rosie goes gung-ho on that slopes vibe by adding some striped monochrome adidas leggings and chunky platform Dr Martens.
