3 DREAMY SUMMER SUITS
By Maybelle Morgan, 13 June 2018
Summer and suits may seem like two contradictory words, but a tailored two-piece can inject some much-needed pizazz into your predictable warm weather wardrobe equation. The key to take it from fusty to fancy is incorporating the all-important trifecta of sleek silhouettes, bright colours and (v important) breathable fabrics. Here are three street-style looks to help you follow suit…

Check up on it
From last season’s heritage to last year’s coveted gingham, checks aren't budging from our wardrobes. And for SS18, we’re crushing on this baby-blue suit in subtle gridline check. Underneath the blazer goes a pop of neon yellow for a nod to the 80s, and a fun velvet bum bag cinches in the waist to break up all the saccharine. For accessories, go retro to add some kitschy fun: pointed white boots and ultra-slim framed sunnies sleek up the ensemble.

Utility belter
The utility trend has done the rounds on everything this season, and we’re enjoying this latest foray into summer suiting. This street-styler has the aesthetic down, with the contrast stitching adding Scandi functional vibes to this ice-white two-piece (we’re loving the wide-leg trouser, longline blazer and belting). To finish off, it’s about clashing up the look with eclectic influences, so beaten-up trainers will do.

Blue is the warmest colour
And for the most deliciously 80s thing to ever happen to your smart wardrobe? This oversized suit in the deepest granny-chic turquoise, with retro cropped trousers and contrasting white buttons. Play up on the colour palette like this street-styler with kitschy white cat-eye sunglasses. And to finish? Well, it is summer, so embellished sliders will amp up the fun.
