INTRODUCING YOUR PRETTY NEW DAY SHOE
By Lucy Glen, 7 September 2017
Trust the Scandi style babes to provide an undeniably chic shoe showcase. At Copenhagen Fashion Week this year, we witnessed incredible footwear game. We're talking next-level sneakers, sleek slides and a relatively new shape to jump back on the scene – the slingback. It's a pretty-as option for every occasion – check out the street-style experts below for some sweet inspiration...

With a dress
Slingbacks not only look slick, but they can be a fresh alternative to old-faithful sneakers – especially when you pair them with the dress of the season (we're looking at you, floral maxi) and great shades. If you're after a little more coverage, layer a plain tee with the look and finish with a classic black shoulder bag.

With a denim mini
With that 80s thing doing the rounds at the moment, it's time to dust off those pins and air them out. Make like Camille Charrière and pair your slingbacks with a denim mini and loose-fit knit. Extra points for matching mellow yellow accessories.

With an oversized blazer
Slingbacks aren't only about leather and muted tones, they can be bright and playful, too. This outfit turns typically corporate pieces – a blazer and heels – on their head. Clock up a street-style win in a bold double-breasted blazer and slingbacks fluffier than a sheep with a blow-dry. Embrace the fun, guys.

With clashing prints
One way to get noticed is wearing head-to-toe clashing prints. Trust us, it works. We're kind of obsessed with loud floral prints and the cool crew in Copenhagen were, too. If all-over prints is a bit OTT for you, then pair the prints with a classic white shirt and finish with demure slingbacks.

With statement sleeves
We love a striped shirt here at ASOS HQ and this outfit has been effortlessly elevated by combining it with other timeless pieces: baby-blue denim and simple black slingbacks. Minimal chic at its best.
