Yes, we know, white jeans in the city are precariously vulnerable to stains and smudges. But damn, why do they have to look so good? Skinnies are benched as raw-edge, mom and wide-leg jeans make the perfect warm-weather style statements (especially when it looks like summer might be *sobs* turning in early). 5 WAYS TO WEAR WHITE JEANS
By Maybelle Morgan, 22 August 2017
Got the smarts
White jeans not only look £££ but they're also a cool alternative to trousers – take this divine outfit that pairs fringe-hem jeans with a white slogan tee as proof. A double-breasted mustard blazer breaks up the white, while super-girlie watercolour slingbacks bring the pretty.
This look was made for Sunday brunching, cos the dreamy colour palette said so. The low-rise fit and super-long fringe hem give a slightly dressier feel, which is then balanced with the varsity-esque, strawberry-pink slogan sweatshirt. White retro slingbacks add a dose of prim and pretty.
White jeans may be the epitome of chic and clean, but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock a girlie-grunge 'fit. Opt for cuffed mensy-style denim and skate sneaks, but wear with a light rose-pink shirt. Amp up the glam with some hardware accessories: cat-eye shades, silver hoops and a ring-detail cross-body bag.
And for your (gig) viewing pleasure? This monochrome outfit not only brings the comfy but also the cool. The mini fringe hem adds subtle texture, which pairs perfectly with a striped Breton tee. Then, just add classic staples like gold-rimmed Ray-Bans, a leather jacket (of course) and some comfy endurance mules.
In the summertime
It’s an absolute fact that white denim was made to be worn by the seaside. Why? Wide-leg culottes give a sunny beachside element to the outfit and a floaty red tie-front top amps up the colourful holiday factor. Finish with white high-tops and you’ve got yourself a prime sand-strolling uniform.
