THIS 80S LOOK IS AN ASYMMETRIC A+
By Maybelle Morgan, 11 August 2017
The 80s dress can be a tricky one, but high fives all round if you get it right. Yep, in a sea of floral dresses and sheer ruffles, there’s something oh-so-refreshing about a strong silhouette, muted shades and a drastic cut. American model Teddy Quinlivan leads the way with this slammin’ power look from Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Dynasty shoulders + an asymmetric cut + lots of draping. It shouldn’t work in theory, but it just does. The dramatics of the shoulder pads are balanced out by the teal-grey hues, while the midi asymmetric skirt is sassed up by the gathered mini length, which is all about the leg show. Chunky patent-heeled boots and a nylon mesh bag add a utilitarian feel, but a slick of orange-red lippie and drop earrings bring that glam 80s feel.
