THE PINSTRIPE BLAZER HAS HAD A REBOOT
By Maybelle Morgan, 7 August 2017
The pinstripe blazer has long been the OG uniform of the banker (Leo reps it hard in The Wolf Of Wall Street), but forget what you once knew. It’s had a business-class-level overhaul and is now officially your go-to summer cover-up. The difference? It has thicker contrast stripes and an 80s-style asymmetric cut. Here are three ways to style it up...

Weekend win
Opposites attract, right? Right. Which is very much the case here, where you ultimately want to be wearing your PJs all weekend long but also need to have some sort of decorum. The pinstripe blazer is your saviour for balancing out and giving structure to very casual outfits. Layer it over bold tracksuit bottoms, an animal-print jersey top and some comfy pink sneaks.

All dressed up
There’s no denying it. This blazer brings the smarts and is ideal for giving your out-out look a chicer edge. Mix business and pleasure by mashing up your silhouettes – contrast the tailored fit of the jacket with a sporty, 90s, colour-block tracksuit dress. Then, bring your outfit into dressed-up territory with oh-so-pretty pearl hoops and some dancefloor-ready pointed silver booties.

Work it
And lastly, bring the blazer back to its motherland – wear it to work, of course. Go stripes-on-stripes for max impact and pair it with some classic navy pinstripe trousers. Wear with a crisp white shirt for doing your office thing and, when you clock off, swap it for a sheer long-sleeved top. Finish with some 90s hardware chain earrings and some chunky oxblood loafers.
