WHAT TO WEAR TO
Why the untucked shirt is your office staple
By Maybelle Morgan, 9 July 2017
It’s hotter than an oven right now. And because your main priority is trying not to melt into a puddle on your commute/morning meeting/desk, swap out your traditional tailored work pieces for an outfit that (hallelujah) encourages a bit of breeze…
Try to put flashbacks of school detention to the back of your mind. For the first time ever, the untucked shirt serves as the slightly unruly but v cool cornerstone of your 9-5 outfit. It’s all about floaty silhouettes (the air pockets pretty much have the same effect as a fan, right?) in luxe fabrics. Enlist the help of a knuckle-skimming BWS (big white shirt) and leave it half-untucked into a pair of belted plissé trousers. Counteract the chill shapes with some strict-looking accessories: think a boxy leather cross-body, pointed heels and some 90s tortoiseshell-frame cat-eyes.
