Say hi to DJ Zoe London

Tell us about your job...
Well, by day I create YouTube videos and by night I DJ – not always on the same day, mind! I try to keep it balanced. I took it upon myself to learn how to DJ a few years ago after a break-up, my determination to have fun and learn a new skill paid off! I got a residency at a club in Camden and it took off from there. 

Best gig you’ve ever done?

I once played the main stage of 2000trees Festival for its silent disco – there was a few thousand people there and it was honestly incredible! Then I also helped my pal out at the Lock Up Stage at Reading Festival a few years ago and that, too, was a real dream. 

What about your blogging?

In 2010, I was at university and wasn’t loving my course. It was a fine art degree and while I loved art, my work was deemed quite ‘commercial’ by my tutor, so I didn’t feel like I really fitted in. The fashion network Lookbook.nu had just launched and I wangled a code to be invited, started submitting outfits and my love for snapping began! That’s when I started my blog.

Describe your style…

I’m still clinging onto my punk youth, but with a splash of modernity. I’m also a high-street girl and I’m obsessed with shopping online! My hair is a big part of my look, too – I’ve been more or less every single colour now apart from bold yellow or silver, which I’ve definitely been considering trying recently.

What’s next for Zoe London?

My plan for the foreseeable future is to continue wearing the clothes I love in new cities across the world with my camera in hand. I’m going to keep working hard to do the best I can! I’m also heading to V and Reading festivals, which I can’t wait for.
