Fake it till you make it: the tucked-under bob
By Anna Heaton, 15 January 2016
If you're a bit too chicken to brave the chop, or want a test run before you take the plunge, then this neat SS16 hair hack was made for you. Championed recently by Gigi Hadid and now by Amber Heard, the tucked-under bob is officially a thing.

Sending this glossy bob down the runway, Fendi channelled 40s vibes when it came to hair on the SS16 catwalk. Sleek with lots of bounce, the sweeping side parting was held in place at the front with a kirby grip, giving it a modern update.

Working the look on the red carpet, Amber Heard hit the Golden Globes with a similar do (minus the hair clip for extra posh points). Add a pair of statement earrings and dark red lippie to seal the deal for going out-out or date night.

To achieve this look (you know you want to), loosely gather your hair into a ponytail and secure with a hair tie (don't forget, however low you tie it will impact how long your bob will be). Hold the tied hair, tuck it underneath itself and pin it to your head with a grip. Then tease out your hair with your fingers to evenly spread the bob around your head. Add more pins to tidy up any rogue hairs and finish with some extra-strong-hold hairspray.
