How to change up your hair for December

Marking the new month (and season!) with a new 'do is a thing, apparently. Just ask Alexa, Sienna, Hailey and co, who have all debuted new hair over the last week. Itching for a cut? Dye job? Highlights? Look no further than these ladies for a spot of transitional know-how. They gotchu – and your mane – well sorted.

Showing off her new chop job at the BFAs (see all the pics here), The Chung made a compelling case for the almost-bob with a sweeping side fringe (back from the early noughties) and nearly even ends. Chic.

Sienna unexpectedly cut her flowing locks into a choppy bob back in July (A+) and has just taken things up another notch. Her tresses are even shorter now and she's fast becoming 2014’s poster girl for the perfectly unpolished 'do. It’s a cracking combo of under cut, baby-lights (the next step on from ombré) and voluminous waves. Good. Very good.

The Aussie lead singer of pop-punk band Tonight Alive (more about her here) generally goes between a shoulder-length blonde 'do and an all-over neon green dye. Until now. Unveiling her dark emerald tresses at a London gig, this bae is turning us green with hair envy

It's more a style change-up than a full-on makeover (perfect if you're not ready for the chop this week), but Hailey traded her straighteners for the curling iron this week, offering a masterclass in bouncy, tousled waves. Think bed hair... and then some more.

It’s a smouldering turn of tresses for Cheryl, who’s gone all dark and dramatic for the party season. No highlights? No worries. It’s a one-colour, all-round fablas situation which we intend on, er, heavily channelling.

Obsessed with getting a long bob? First you need to see how Vanessa Hudgens and Kendall did it.
