ASOS DESIGN

If you’ve never heard of ECONYL, get familiar, 'cause it’s sticking around for the long haul. In basic terms, it's a 100% regenerated nylon fiber that’s made from fishing nets and other nylon waste. That means it uses up materials that otherwise would be sitting in a garbage heap somewhere, plus it saves on natural resources too. And it looks great, so winning all around. ASOS DESIGN is creating some slick swimwear with this material — case in point: this bold orange beauty. It's got Ibiza pool party written all over it.

Weekday

Yes, Swedish brand Weekday is your go-to for denim and outerwear, but did you know they produce cute AF swimwear that is made from recycled materials too? Well, now you do. The label’s collection is from recycled polyamide and polyester, created from PET plastic bottles, production waste and, again, fishing nets. Styles like this black bikini are more of a low-key vibe for those who like a minimal poolside moment.

Monki

Another brand using recycled materials for its swimwear is Monki, and trust when we say its designs are the perfect combination of sustainable and stylish. If you’re more into swimsuits then bikinis, try this so-2019 tropical-print one-piece — which just so happens to look fresh to death as well as being environmentally friendly. Just like ASOS DESIGN and Weekday's offering, it used to be rubbish, but it certainly isn’t any more. One woman’s trash...
