5 OF THE MOST EXTRA ADD-ONS
By Eleanor Dunne, April 25, 2019
Is it just us, or do accessories get more and more exciting with each season? For SS19, there’s a whole new level of extra in the add-ons department — think out-there animal print, eye-watering neon, whimsical beading and the return of some much-missed hair accessories. Keep scrolling and you'll see what we mean...
You may have noticed we’re kind of obsessed with neon and animal print this season — as is most of the fashion world, if our social media feeds are anything to go by. In any case, a pair of barely-there heels, whether stiletto or block, is a low-key way to try the trend if you don’t want to go next level. Pair them with your LBD on your next big night out.
Remember the headband your mothermade you wear all those years ago? Well, they’re trending RN — thanks mostly to Prada’s SS19 show. But the vibe is a long way away from the girlie-ness they once brought to your school uniform. This season, an option like this embellished green version is regal, cool and a subversively quirky add-on for grown ups. We promise.
Continuing with our theme of dressing from the head down, (and throwbacks to our awkward pre-teen phase), here we have a collection of beautiful clips for your SS19 line-up. Everyone was wearing slides like these during fashion month, and they’re ideal for adding a fun touch to your 'do — as well as extending the time until your next hair wash too.
Originally brought back by London brand Shrimps a couple of seasons ago, the charming beaded-bag trend stays strong for SS19. There's a number of options, from bold pink mini bags to this bigger brown number, which is coming with us on all our summer excursions...
Move over skinny sunglasses, there’s a new shape in town. Sporty-futuristic visors are the latest eyewear update — think Terminator meets Star Trek. We’ve spotted this trend on everyone from J.Lo to the Hadids, and we can't wait to try it out. Whether monochrome or pink, wear yours with the season’s legging shorts and a cut-out crop top for peak '80s-meets-'90s nostalgia.
