6 NEW BOILER SUITS FOR SS19
By Ludovica Parisi, March 24, 2019
From cargo pants to vests and oversized pockets, the utility trend strolled onto basically every SS19 catwalk. You think we’re bored of it? Never. And RN, with transitional weather upon us, we've got boiler suits on our minds. The perfect combo of laid-back and smart, all in one glorious outfit, your father’s old work uniform deserves all your attention. Here are six street-style looks to take inspiration from for your next look.
Your 2000s evergreen
Baggy, comfy and strictly khaki — that’s how we would describe this Queen Bee of all boiler suits. Although we've been giving this one the green light for a couple of seasons now, you can refresh it with combat boots and a fanny pack to keep up with SS19.
NGL, the idea of an all-leather boiler suit originally scared us. But then, Giorgia Tordini showed up at Paris Fashion Week with a full on brown leather jumpsuit and here we are — obsessed. Step it up with vinyl pointy boots or tone it down with chunky sneakers — your call.
When we said the '90s were back, we weren’t just referring to scrunchies and graphic tees. Tie-dye was next in line. Take a page out of Caro Daur’s book and style your artsy boiler suit with stiletto boots and a see-through bag. In this one, you don’t need to worry about spilling your wine — no one will notice. Bonus.
Snakeskin and neon: name a more iconic duo. Who knew two of our favorite trends of the season could mesh so perfectly together? Balance the look by layering it up with a leather jacket and finish with black ankle boots. Spoiler alert: you'll never want to take this off.
When sporty meets chic
Color blocking, waterproof nylon material and a loose-fitting shape – aka comfort at its finest? Yes, please. Your tracksuit and hoodie power couple has just been upgraded to a standout boiler suit. Time to hit the catwalk — sorry, we mean run your errands.
In a complicated relationship with bold prints? Thank you, next. A neutral boiler suit is the answer. Opt for a baggy silhouette with maxi pockets (tie it with a belt for a more feminine twist) and bring it to the next level via a baby-blue turtleneck and a lime clutch. Heavenly.
