STYLING
STYLE LESSONS FROM FRIDA KAHLO
By Maybelle Morgan, June 24, 2018
Feminist, muse and formidable artist (and some might say the world’s first selfie superstar), Frida Kahlo's unique, eclectic personal style has stood the test of time. Her dazzling clashing prints, vibrant flower accessories and frothy circle skirts are currently on display at the V&A exhibition, Making Her Self Up. Check out this SS18 look inspired by elements of the inimitable Mexican artist’s style…

First things first: it’s all about color, color and more color. So make the heart of your ensemble a midi dress with lots of Frida-friendly elements including a bold, clashing print (tropical florals meets '80s-style animal print), and flouncy hem detailing.

For your accessories game, there’s still no shying away. Warm, bright colors reign supreme, and in true Frida form, there's the floral headband (the bigger the blooms, the better). Orange pointed bow mules amp up the warm weather/vacay vibes, and then to finish? Layers of yellow-gold jewelry to add some glitzy texture. Magic.
