4 BAGS TO SAVE SUMMER
By Maybelle Morgan, May 31, 2018
The bag is the undisputed savior of your wardrobe. The lead accessory not only dresses up your outfits with all sorts of finishing-touch goodness, but can also be the simplest way to incorporate a trend. Oh, and it carries all your stuff. For summer, you want to go for a lighter touch — we’re casting our eyes to the street-style masses for some inspiration. Bag yourself one of these four beauties…

Clear as day
So we all know that the return of the '80s has sprung forth the prevalence of kitsch accessories. For a sleeker take on the trend, your average grab-handle shopper bag gets a squeaky perspex upgrade. Props to the retro white handle and matching internal leather bag (well, you’ve gotta retain some privacy, right?).

Yeah, so it looks familiar because it sort of resembles a laundry bag/that bag you use when you move apartments. But we know heritage checks have been on the radar for a while now, and this tongue-in-cheek tartan update is the perfect way to add some print excitement to your ensemble. And in a structured style, with contrast piping and woven handles, what could be better?

Wicker, man
It doesn’t get cuter or more South of France than a straw bag. And for a chicer, more solid take, make like this street-styler with a circular woven one featuring subtle gold hardware and a tan strap. Bonus points go to the tight wicker weave (which looks more structured, and has less chance of scratching your clothes). Pair with a button-up floral tea dress and you’ve got a dreamy look that's so right for your next vacay thing.

Pearl play
Wallpaper print, buckled brogues — you know the drill. Every so often, granny-chic does its rounds in our wardrobes, but never so obviously and opulently as this all-pearl-everything grab-handle bag. With woven clusters and an iridescent sheen, it’s perfect for adding some fancy to your day attire. For a brighter, more wearable punch, go for a bold beaded number.
