3 WAYS TO WEAR THE FLORAL CORSET

There are many things we thought we’d left in the 2000s. Ra-ra skirts, velour tracksuits, Justin Timberlake’s frosted tips. Oh, and corsets right? Wrong. Corsets are back for FW17, but this time they’ve had an ultra-pretty floral glow-up ft. a sassy plunge neckline and contrast side-tie lacing. Here are three ways to work it into your wardrobe here…

It’s safe to say that too many date-nights have been subject to the tired LBD treatment. If you’re due for a shake-up, the v. feminine floral corset is the way to go, but keep it balanced to avoid going too Marie Antoinette. Play with proportions and match the more revealing top half with some navy floor-sweeping wide-leg pants. Next, jazz up your outfit with some bold accessories: '80s-style leopard print heels, a midnight-crush velvet mini tote and some ruby drop costume earrings.  

Now we like brunch, movie night and casual bar days as much as the next person, but every so often a cultural event will come along (museum, anyone?) that will require a slightly sharper outfit turn-up than your average. Enlist the help of an oversized suit (in this season’s fave heritage checks) and add the floral corset for a sassy print mash-up. Finish with bold yellow sneakers for a splash of color and a studded mini bucket bag for a dash of punk.
