16 looks from fashion week to replicate, stat

The sun has set on fashion month but the fire street-style inspo just keeps on coming. In the name of sharing (and major wardrobe envy), we've rounded up the most jaw-dropping, heart-achingly amazing looks that are going to inform your SS17 style. Complete with handy commentary. TL;DR? Pin these bad boys, ASAP.

1. Retro uniform

Be still our beating 2000s hearts. The time to reprise your fave throwback aesthetic — dresses over pedal-pushers (what else?) — has arrived, but the latest reincarnation favors sawn-off, ankle grazing-denim and uber-feminine, floral maxis. Take tips from Tiffany Hsu and finesse your silhouette by half-tucking your dress. FYI, tinted shades = v important.

2. Suits you

Making a case for tailoring (and blazers we’re pretty sure our grandfather owns) is none other than Jan-Michael Quammie. It’s the power suit, but not as you know it. Muddied colors, mix-and-match combos (those pants, that blazer) and mini briefcases combine to create a look you didn't know you’d dig so much. But where JMQ goes, fashion follows, right? Case closed.

3. Fishnets forever

Good news: your love affair with all things shirt related continues long into summer 2K17. Better news: so does your infatuation with all things fishnet. Under jeans, with skirts, in lieu of socks, your legs have a new BFF and this duo are in it for the long haul.

4. Canadian tux

It’s time to channel Britney and Justin circa 2001, and don some elaborate denim (what goes around, comes around, right JT?). Consider this update the Canadian tuxedo’s cooler cousin. Cinched-in waist, frayed edges, extreme rips and decon vibes transform this throwback silhouette into something far fresher. Take note.

5. Layer player

It was only a matter of time before the dancing-lady emoji informed our summer aesthetic. Red velvet ruffles + hot-pink shoulder-baring shirt + a dash of denim + mules = a feast for the eyes, and a treat for the wardrobe. Moral of the get-up: color clashing is major and gowns over jeans is the coolest.

6. Boxy babe

There’s a lot to get excited about here (and that’s without taking the 3D-flower sitch into consideration). You’ve already fervently noted the power of PVC (bravo), and you know a good sock boot when you see one, but let’s zone in on that boxy blazer. XXL shoulders meets clean lines (buh-bye, lapels!), and a satin finish to create the on-duty jacket you’re going to be coveting all spring.

7. Haute hoodie

Consider hoodies in all their guises — cropped, longline, oversized and mini — your gateway to peak sleek. Amp up the off-duty element by teaming with stirrups (yup, they're back) and a dad cap (yup, still here) before smartening up your look with a luxe trench.

8. Thigh's the limit

You can thank Vetements for your over-the-knee proclivity and thank Doina Ciobanu for this more-than-stellar styling inspo. Proof that putting the leg work in doesn’t need to be an exhaustive exercise, Doina teamed her sateen thigh-highs (major, no?) with a sporty skirt (note the slit) and a casual sweat. NB: utilizing your choker as a hair-tucking tool = so necessary.

9. Give 'em the shoulder

Your shoulders have spent the best part of a year in the spotlight, starkers (off-the-shoulder, anyone?), but they’re about to undergo the '80s effect. Angular and exaggerated, the blazer memo straight from the streets is simple: padded shoulders are, well, big. Double down on your favored decade by adding white boots and straight-cut denim to the mix.

10. Throwback feels

Plot twist — vintage jackets with a varsity twist (ribbing, say what?!) will be sitting more-than-pretty in your wardrobe, ASAP (alongside all that PVC). From the shades to the jean shape to the handbag, your obsession with all-vintage everything has been given the green light for summer.
