SEPTEMBER'S BEST SNEAKS
By Steven Potter, September 23, 2020
If you’re reading this, you’re obviously a fan of unboxing moments. You know, that feeling you get where you lift the lid on a box of new sneakers, peel back the wrapper and take in your new purchase in all its boxfresh glory? Yeah, that feeling. So, before you indulge in that, take a look at five of the best new styles from PUMA, New Balance, Reebok and more!

CAT Intruder sneakers, $142.20
Now, no one expected a brand that produces construction machinery and workwear garms to come out of the blocks with kicks so chunky, so overblown, so.... 2020, that they are literally impossible to ignore. We’re talking Cat Footwear. The Intruder model above is a gloriously over-the-top offering – perfect for any sneaker fans that like their kicks larger than life. Throw in a super-fresh, triple-white colourway, and we might just have a new favourite sneaker brand 👀

New Balance 530 sneakers, $127
There’s a new style of kicks gaining traction. We're talking the kind of sneakers that looked futuristic back in the 90s but which give out a kinda-retro-but-still-quite-futuristic vibe in 2020. These New Balance 530 trainers are one such model. They also score extra points for a massively chunky neon sole – what a flex!

Speaking of chunky soles, the next offering from PUMA certainly delivers on that front. The ‘RS’ part of the RS-X3’s name refers to their spongey cushioning system, first designed in the 80s. Don’t do your next 5K in these though; the comfort is purely for your everyday vibe. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how jazzy those laces are, too?

Reebok Court Legacy sneakers, $75
Throwback styles and chunky soles are great, of course, but sometimes you just want a super-clean, super-wearable pair of sneakers. Step up the Reebok Legacy Court kicks. With clean lines and a no-nonsense colorway, these sneaks are perfect if the overblown, color-blocked styles aren’t really your vibe.

ASOS DESIGN chunky sneakers, $72
We don’t just do sweet garms, you know? Look to ASOS DESIGN for updates from the ground up, too. The chunky-sneaker wave is still riding high for Fall 2020, so, at this point, a pair of overblown kicks can 100% be considered a wardrobe staple. Throw in some tonal, utility-friendly colourways, and those new-season vibes will be peaking nicely.
